Getting in touch

Email support@nearguess.com. It reaches a person, not a ticket queue. NearGuess is small, so expect a reply in a day or two rather than an instant one.

What to include

Anything that helps reproduce it: what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead. If it involves a specific game, the invite code is the fastest way for us to find it.

Your device and iOS version help too — some bugs only exist on one screen size, and those are the hardest to guess at from a description.

Things that come up often

Scores missing on a new device. Progress follows the account, not the phone. Sign in with the same method you used originally — an Apple account and a Google account with the same email address are still two different accounts.

Playing as a guest. Guest progress lives on the device and cannot be recovered if the app is removed. Creating an account is what makes it portable.

An invite code that won't join. Codes belong to one game and stop working once the host finishes it. Ask the host to start a new game and share the fresh code.

Your account and data

You can delete your account from Profile → Settings inside the app. It removes your identity, your stats, and the questions you wrote. There is no waiting period and no separate request to file.

What we store and why is written out in the privacy policy, and the rules of play are in the terms.

Reporting a question

Questions are written by people, and occasionally one is wrong, stale, or simply bad. Send the question text to the address above and it gets corrected or retired. Facts drift; a question about a population or a record is only right until it isn't.
